    Pain in lower abdomen
:)Hey I really need some help!! My brother is 13 years old, for the past year he has had excruciating pain in his left lower abdomen, or between his ribs, and his pelvic bone. It will come spiratically. Like he will be in pain every night for about 2 weeks, then he may not have pain for another month, then it will come again. He has been to the doctor and emergency room, and they have ran all kids of test. I think a ct scan and a blood test, and nothing is coming up. I hate to see him like this. He cries every time it happens, and he is a tough guy and for him to be crying something has got to be wrong! Please help me! Thanks Miranda K. Lawrenceburg, TN

One of the first things to ask is about regularity. When he has these bouts of pain could he also be constipated? Constipation can result in gastritis which can be painful enough to double over anyone.
Also, when they ran tests, did they do a colonoscopy to look inside his colon?

Yesterday when he went to the doctor, the doc. Finally is referring him to a specialist at Vanderbilt, close to Nashville, TN. So hopefully they will find the job. This last visit to the doc he did mention something about his colon. So hopefully, the vanderbilt visit will take care of it all and my brother will not be in any more pain. Thank you very much! Has he been hit by something or someone? Kicked? Punched?
