    triangles and angle degrees
OK. I have tried to understand this question, but it makes no sense to me.
My teacher touched on it in about a two minute period right before break.
so I don't know how to do this.
It's saying that you have a triangle. Xyz with and angle bisector of angle y and these angles labeled one and two.
Then it says that the measure of angle xyz is 8x+12
    and angle one is 4x+8
    and angle 2 is 9x-11
it then asks for the measure of angle xyz
this is a multiple choice question and the choices are
    a. 3 degrees
    b. 20 degreees
    c. 36 degrees
    d. 60 degrees.
By common sense I ruled out a.
But I don't understand how to find the degree measure.
Can you please help me with this?
    thank you.

    Hello mellib429

The total of all angles of a triangle is 180 degrees.
    Given are the three angles : 8x+12 , 4x+8 , and 9x-11
Solve x and work out each angle.
    Take it from there !

    Success !

    :)
