Water temp. adjustment on hot water heating syst.
I have an older American Standard hot water boiler home heating system and am wondering at what temperature should the water be set? It is a closed loop system and the water pressure is between 18-22 lbs. Thanks:)

If heating is done through baseboard or cast iron, then temp on aguastat should be 180-190.

Please let me know a little more about your system. What type registers you have, and or if you have floor heat.

I don't have floor heat and the baseboard registers are 2 pipe systems off 3 zones. Thanks for your quick response.

Okay so aquastat should be set at 180. If you still don't get good heat, set it to 190, but never go over 190. Can you tell me why you are wondering what the temp should be? Explain what problems you are having. Not enough heat? There are a few things that can cause hot water heat systems to not work correctly. Water temp is only one of them. If you are having problems, please let me know what they are, and I will try my best to help.
