    Defaulted student loans/wage garnishment
Hello! I was wondering, how much can be garnished from one's pay for a defaulted student loan? Actually, I have 2, one is a federally unsubsidised and the other is a subsidised, so would that mean they would garnish times 2? Also, concerning our taxes, if we file an injured spouse form, would the refund be garnished by half or would they take the whole thing providing both me and my husband have worked during the year (he's been the only one working, so by filing the injured spouse form, we get the full refund, but I am thinking about getting a job which is why I am asking)?

    Thanks for any help.

They may only garnish up to the max allowed under your states laws. Often the one that files first will get its money, then when it is paid, the other one starts getting its money. But it will depend on how they are filed.

The injured spouse gets a percertage according to percent of income and taxes paid.

Thank you for the response. Do you know where I can find out how much my state (Oklahoma) allows to be garnished?
