Hello, I just took delivery of a portable dishwasher. When I followed the instructions my faucet sprayed water all over. It is also blowing out packing material from the bottom of the spout. I recently replaced the o-ring and the packing because there was a slow leak at the bottom of spout.
I'm thinking the faucet just can't take the pressure of the DW and I need to install a new one. What would be the best type? Should I get ceramic or ball type or does that even matter?
Current faucet is wall installed bridge type. Two faucets with mixer spout in middle, washer type, no sprayer.
Any help gratefully appreciated. Thank you.

If I understand this correctly... you need a special aerator for portable dishwashers... usualy something like the first two pictures... the third picture is a regular faucet aerator found on most faucets. You may need to purchase an adapter to get this to transition between your faucet and the portable dishwasher.

Let me know what you discover. The instructions should address this..?

Are you saying that you have correctly connected dishwasher water supply to spout on kitchen sink faucet. But when you turn kitchen sink fuacet on, it leaks around spout(not at connection of dishwasher, at aeroter) but at hinging point of spout. IF so, your k.s. faucet is in need of replacement. Any brand will work, I would suggest getting a moen. You have already tried to repair faucet, hence, its time to just buy a new one.

The dishwasher is not putting pressure against the fuacet, it is just holding pressure, and your faucet is faulty, (meaning it can't stand the pressure). Let me know if this makes sense.

Thanks mygirl... Thats what I figured just needed someone else to say it. Shopped around this afternoon and realized the "bridge faucets" are nearing antique designation. I can get one online. They have ceramic fittings instead of washers. I suppose this is better. Am I right?

Hi Mass... Thanks for your reply. Yes I did get the adapter and followed all directions. My problems began when I began the cycle of the DW. That's when water sprayed out of the spout bottom etc. I think my old faucet just couldn't handle the water pressure. Does that make sense? I've looked online and found a ceramic fitting Bridge faucet. Do you think something like that would work as a replacement?

Yes... almost any 8" center spread wall mount faucet should work nicely...

Sounds like a bad "O" ring, (see image).
Remove the handle and spout retaining nut and pull up. Replace the "O" ring and lube the "O" ring with silicon jel before installing. Good luck and thank you for rating my answer. Tom

Thanks Speedball 1, Yes I had replaced the o-ring already. I'm just going to bite the bullet and order a new faucet that can take the pressure.

Im sorry you gave speedball a disagree. Please (if possible) give him an agree rating. And now I will explain why I think you should.

There are a lot of post here that we try to answer. After doing it many, many times, as speedball has, we just kind of lose track, and miss certain parts of the original question(im guilty, as are most people here I'm sure) His advice was excellent, only he missed that you had already tried that. Simple mistake. Had you not mentioned the o-ring replacement, his advice would have been on the top of the list from any of us. Just a misread. He takes his advice very seriously, as do most of us. And he usually hits the mark. We all misread, or skip a sentence or two. We don't do it on purpose, we are just tired after a days worth of events.

I appreciate your rating of my answer more than you know. But I feel that speedball gave a great answer also.
