    Event Planning/Sponorings
I'm planning this event (which is a parade). I need help finding a sponsor. This is my first time doing such an activity and I have no idea about marketing, sponsoring or anything. Where do I start? What do I do? All I was told was to find a sponsor or market this event.
Hint: I'm a volunteer for this law office and I have no experience or any idea what to do.

    Hello Eric:

Well, you're in over your head, aren't you? No problem. I'll give you the parts, and you'll have to put them together...

A sponsor is going to pay, but he won't pay unless he sees a benefit. You're going to have to find out exactly how much it'll cost a sponsor, and what benefit he'll get for his sponsorship.

Will the parade be NAMED after them? Will they get TV coverage? Will they get a BIG BANNER? What do you have in mind for them?

When you get all that figured out, find some prospective sponsors along the street where the parade is being held, or maybe a bank, or maybe a department store, and go see them. Tell 'em how great it'll be for them.

I'm sure your law office will provide you with a contract.

That's all... Now go do it.

    Hi, EricYankwitt!

What kind of parade will this be concerning, please? It would be helpful to know about that in order to answer your question the best.

    Thanks!

I do apologize to you, excon! Your response to EricYankwitt was excellent advice!

I had been on here way too long and just wasn't paying as close of attention as I should have been to what I was reading.

    Thanks!
