Just looking for opinions on this question... Is it true that " you are who you hang around with"? Basically, I'm asking is it true that the friends you hang around with can bring you down, or help improve your life? Even if you are a strong willed person, can the friends you keep hold you back in some way, if they are not on the same level emotionally or financially; or vice versa?

    HI, Kia!

In my opinion yes, there is a good deal of truth to what you're saying. Water seeks its own level, it's a basic law of physics. It's very much the same way with people. Persons will tend to seek out and hang around those who are like themselves.

Is there a particular reason why you're asking the question, please?

Hopefully, others will also be along to address your question.

    Thanks!

Real friends are our most important of life's blessings.

I don't see how real friends can hold you back. Can you clarify more?
