How to do affirmations?

I have read about using affirmations and that you do get what you want. I have read on ways to apply them and use them. You can't use personal names-is that correct? There seem to be differents ways of using them. Anyone tell me the correct way and if you can use names of people while doing them?

I've done quite a bit of research into this topick, but it's hard to know what you mean.
I think you would need to give use more on the situation you intend to use this SELF-affirmations. I think the idea is to focus on ones self, and train your brain to think good things, or at least relax.

So if you want more info, both on the spiritual level, Cognitive/Neuro plastisic level on this matter please give more info or refrase your question.

Okay. I mean when your'e using them to attract love can you use the man's name you are wanting in your life? Sorry didn't phrase it correctly.

If so, hold your guns still. It's called SELF-affirmations, they only work on you. If you love yourself, take care of yourself, and by doing so get confidence.

Tell me do you love yourself? Tell me 10 good things about yourself.

The point I'm trying to make is, don't try to make some one love you, let them love you.

Ever hear the phrase about the bird you hold too tightly will die, but if you hold your hand out, and if it loves you it will come?

Id say no for the names at any rate. I hope I've given you something to go with, if you want more detail let me know, I learned SELF-affirmation, by way of buddhism, cognitive psychology, and neruoplastisity.

I use to love myself more than I do. But I have a problem with being alone and no one understands. It hurts so much. I am crying right now. So what I am saying is can I affirm a mans name that I love and it will happen??

But they say affirmations for love attract what we want. Isn't that what they are all about? I have just about given up on everything else, so I thought this would help.

You sound like a great girl, and any man would be lucky to be with you. I know what it's like to be alone, and feel alone. I've bin bipolar for little more than 10 years, I had a girl for 4 years. I did everything for her, working a job I hated and was literally abused at. Kicked, hit called down. I worked 12 hour days at least, some times 18, 6-7 days a week. Took my girl to Australia and new zealand, that was our deal travel and come home and settle down together. Well we came home and a few months later she left me, told me I was too depressing. I was hystarical. Suicidal and what have you. I got over it, and what "with" a few girls since, no more than a month. I've bin alone for about a year now, now girls. I'm feeling better abot myself and I'm learning to love myself. And to deal with my Bipolar.

Point is I understand. I"m a guy and i dont' like being alone, and i only like to be around a few people, and no more than one or three at the most. I feel for you, and i wish i could help more. But it is up to you, just don't forget how specail you are. Even i can sence that from here.

See, if you believe in it and keep thinking it, it will get better. You do have to do things, but your actions are like any one else's, determined by your thoughts.

Again feel free to talk to me, I will be gon for a while but when I get back we can talk, I'd hate for some to have to cry alone like I did. Its just not fun.

I have been reading on self improvement(my self esteem and confidence) I have been working on it more and more. I have affirmations on self love and attracting love. I have been positive. I volunteer, go to the gym, belly dance go out with friends, but it doesn't make up for my loss. I have been positive with myself and I have no one. I feel and I believe that this will help and I will get him back. What is so bad with that? I do everything that they tell you to do as a woman so you attract the man and nothing still. I just don't get it. I don't complain, I don't nag,I am nice, I am myself, caring, loving and giving. I give a guy his space-I am not needy or desperate. I let him call me, let him chase me(called him when he wanted me to) Was always upbeat, happy, easygoing. I would do anything for the one I love. I am honest, loyal faithful. Things that guys want-but not. Then this guy came along everything between us clicked. I don't get it. So I thought affirming for love would do it. Thanks for your help.
