Is there any information about starting a new carpet cleaning business?

    Hi, jaibiz25!

Have you had any experience cleaning carpets in order to make a profit for yourself? Will this just be you who'll be cleaning the carpets? Will you be planning on renting the machines, or will you be looking to buy them? Have you already developed a business plan?

It would be helpful for us to know at least about those things in order to help you the best here.

    Thanks!

WE have found that the hot water extraction method works best for a deep cleaning of carpets.

There is a science to cleaning carpets and I would seriously advise you to take some hand's on classes prior to cleaning someone's carpet as they can easily be destroyed if you do not know what you are doing; carpet bleeding, bleaching, etc are only of a few of the dangers.

Actually no matter what method you choose, you will at best remove only 80% of the soil and dirt in any carpet. If you use too much water you will have "wicking", too little water and you won't get the results you are looking for.

Take the classes if you are not experienced.

Pricing varies across the country, but your pricing is generally figured by the square foot with a total price for the job given to the client.

I would also suggest that you advise the customer prior to the cleaning that spots will come out.stains live on...

I hope I was of some help, please return to answer Clough's questions and we can move forward...
