    Homless children in Florida
:(I recently learned that are "Homeless Children" in Florida. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE? At what age is a parent no longer responsible for their children? At what does the State become responsible for homeless children? Why are parents not held responsible? I always thought you were considered a "child" under your parent's supervision until such time as you became an "adult". I am very appalled & confused.

Usually the parents are homeless too.

As Wondergirl said, homeless children are usually accompanied by their homeless parent. Runaways can fall under that category as well.
I have had students who were technically homeless before... most lived in hotels or shelters.
