Cracking noise lock & fold floor
    Help!
I have a Bruce Lock & fold Hardwood Floor. [floating].
Concrete down and wood sub upstairs. The floor makes a cracking noise everywhere
You walk on it. There are no expansion issues, I have raised baseboards.

What's concrete down actually mean? Many times a homeowner will install a wood locking floor but the floor below that floating floor was not FLAT enough. If the floor below the floor you just laid is dipped the when you walk on the floating floor it twist a little and sink at the same time. This can cause the cracking sound and also trough time the fold and lock can start to gap
What's under the Bruce lock floor now and what prep was done?

Im not picking on you but to many times post are answered partly wrong or half right because of simple clear explantions
    Example
    Concrete floor
    1/4 luan
    Etc
    Etc
My thoughts you might of forget a vapor barrier on concrete floor?
This will greatly speed up things
    Thank You

I personally have seen this issue twice. It was with the Bruce lock and fold both times. The end joint was off at the factory very very slightly, making the fold part not lock 100%, (we are talking microscope size) and when walked on the end joints would move against each other and sqeek.
I have not tried this, but my grandfather used baby powder once on an original floor by sprinkling it on the seeky area and just moving it around in hopes of it getting in the crack areas and it did work, was a little messy and hard to get it up in the cracks but it basicallt Lubed the joint aliitle.
** I have installed floors for over 11 years.
Hope that info helps. [email protected]
