Hello.. I'm new here... but I have a question that I've seen many posts on but really no replies... my question is.. how do I go about giving my kiddos my last name. At birth I named them after the father.. they are now 14 and 12, they no longer want to carry his name. I've never married, so we thought they should have my name. Where do I begin this process, any suggestions are welcomed:p

Usually, you go to court and file a petition to change the last name of your children. The courts will consider whether the man is in the childrens' lives, the relationship you and the children have, etc. Overall, it's pretty much up to the judge which last name is in your child's best interest.
