Broken PVC closet collar, cement floor
Hi, Any ideas to simplify getting the broken PVC flange off the PVC pipe... I have broken off the collar portion, can see the joint, was primed & glued as supposed to be... collar is insert style. I have made 5 cuts with hacksaw through the collar stem, tried to force a wedge (screwdriver) between the two pipe walls. Needless to say, this has not been simple so far... any help much appreciated!

Hi, While waiting for a reply, I continued to try to take the PVC closet flange out piece by piece. I first cut the flange apart and snapped pieces off until I could see the joint between the drain pipe and the inserted portion that had been primed and glued. I then cut through the close flange portion to the drain pipe in five evenly spaced spots around the pipe. Then I hammered by screwdriver between the two pipes and gradually snapped off pieces. I continued until all portions were removed. I then pulled the pieces I could reach out of the drain line (having caught most of them). I removed all the burrs leaving a smooth surface to prime and re-glue a new flange into. Mission Accomplished!
    Thanks.
