Man in the Mirror... what life is all about...
More on loving yourself first... this is step one and must be completed before you even consider a serious relationship...

When you get all you want and you struggle for self,

and the world makes you king for a day,

then go to the mirror and look at yourself

and see what that man has to say.

For it isn't your mother, your father or wife

whose judgement upon you must pass,

but the man, whose verdict counts most in your life

is the one staring back from the glass.

    He's the fellow to please,

    never mind all the rest.

For he's with you right to the end,

and you've passed your most difficult test

if the man in the glass is your friend.

You can fool the whole world,

    down the highway of years,

and take pats on the back as you pass.

But your final reward will be heartache and tears

if you've cheated the man in the glass.

    Hi, Wildcat,
    Very good.
But, if one is of ages over say 21, or older, maybe not 64 yet like I am, a serious relationship with the approval of both parents is much more likely to succeed.
Many people today get married with either one set (or both sets) of parents not liking, or can't stand, one of the partners. In later years, it leads to so many problems, that some marriages just can't take it anymore.
Seen it happen too many times, especially when children come on the scene, and Grandma and Grandpa are left out.

    Hey Fred,

I agree a lot with what you say 100%.

A lot of people just want to get married and they really have NO CLUE as to what they are REALLY getting into - especially guys. And guys are really stubbron and shut down when the women wants to talk.

I do think in this contry it should be MANDATORY that a couple goes to marriage counceling BEFORE marriage. (divorce lawyers would hate that).

I posted that because I feel no one should consider a relationship until they love themselves first. It's not a conceited thing either. Agan - how the hel lcan someone love you, when you don't love yourself.

http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_22_19.gif One must love oneself if expecting others to even like you. So this is the first step also to gaining confidence to be able to believe others when they approve of you.

    Simple as that!
