    How is Flapper Assembly removed?
I need to change the overflow pipe and to do so it seems the Flapper Assembly must first be removed. I see no bolts for it and it does not seem to unscrew. I don't want to force anything. (The overflow pipe broke off near the base when I tried to turn it.) How do I remove the Flapper assembly?

The "flapper assembly" is called a "flush valve",(see image). To replace a flush valve you must first shut the water off and undo the supply line. Next remove the tank bolts and pull the tank away from the bowl. The flush valve's secured by a large nut that can be removed with a spud wrench,(see image) and you might wish to replace the spud washer also,(see image). You will have more questions so ask away. Good luck and thank you for rating my answe\r. Tom
