I watched two movies when I was a child in the late 80’s and I cannot recall their names but would love to hear input you may have.

The first movie was an animated movie that somehow involved a child who could communicate with animals and breathe underwater. The movie was mainly about trying to save a whale or whales. From what I can remember, it was an informative movie about whale endangerment. I’m not sure of any details but I would love to figure out what the name of this movie is.

The second movie is not animated. This movie involves a young boy who finds an apple (a golden one I think) and a giant floating head comes out of it and begins talking to him. The boy goes with the floating head to another land and has an adventure. I believe the boy’s father is in this magical land. Again, I’m not sure of the details but any leads would help me a lot.
