For once I lucked out. The joist run the same way as the pipes so I do not have to cut into any of them. Will I be able to replace the existing 2' pipe where the shower currently is with a 3" and run it into the existing 3" where the toilet currently sits? Also will I be able to use this same 3" existing sewer pipe as the new drain for the shower or do I have to run and entirely new 2" pipe to the downstairs? I will get some pic's and post them next week for a follow up and allow you too see exactly what I have going on.

YUP.. should be able to connect onto existing 3" pipe for toilet and run that over for new toilet no problem. You will also have to watch the piping and distances with regard to venting...meaning you will need to run pipe to toilet and perhaps run 2" pipe back over to old toilet area to connect onto the toilet vent...

Hard to say though without opening floor and posting a pic. For us... ;)

As you go call the plumbing inspector in town and ask him if wet venting is allowed in your area... just tell him you are curious and want to discuss options with a friend. That will help me to advise you best here... ok?
