Installation of glass panels and door on glass tiles
I have installed 6"x12" glass tiles for my shower room. The glass people came and installed the frameless glass panels and doors for the shower. They had no problem drilling holes for the hinges, but after they installed the panel and door, some of the glass tiles around the hinges started to crack after an hour. Is it because they put too much pressure on the glass tiles? Now I don't know what to do. Help!

Its glass tiles very sensitive I drilled a lot of tile in my days and found out pretty quick that the Hole for the screw needs to be a tad bigger than the screw so the screw doesn't apply pressure or pull force on the tile itself. I hope they didn't use the junk plastic Shields to mount the door. These plastic Shields are for very light weight mounting of accessors. Not a door. The plastic shields puts pressure on the tile and not actually going past the tile to hit a solid backer behind tile to mount. I install and repair commercial toilet bathroom partitions and the installers almost always use the plastic shields and they fail in time. It was the hanging of the door that did in the tile and the door weight is too much on the tile for strength. Also the glass Tile is tricky to drill if you drill to fast this weakens the tile itself. To fix the problem 100% is to remove door. Remove tile install a solid backer behind tile to support the door, relay tile and mount door. Check for the plastic shields, also see hoe long the mounting screws are past the tile. This my simple be drilling the tile to fast and aggressively. I normally use stainless steel marine grade steel when mounting a shower door.
At this point door needs to come off/ backer and tile repaired, BUT that might not fix the problem if there are no wood backers behind the tile or id the pilot hole for the screw to go past and not catch screw threads on tile. So that's the basic skinny for objects to tile application
