Hampton Bay Fan starting on its own
I have a Hampton Bay fan, with remote, which has suddenly decided to start running on its own. I thought it was the remote. Took out the batteries and it still happened. I've tried leaving it on low, but when I come home it's running at high. It can come on any time of the day or night. Either I have ghoulies and ghosties in my house or there's something very wrong with the fan. Can anyone give me an idea of what I should be looking for (can't see touching wires), or how I can stop the fan working altogether till I can get an electrician in.
    Thanks

    fed up
I have just installed 2 Hampton Bay fans in my house. I understand that they have a lifetime warranty. Try getting in touch with the company to see if they have had any other inquiries regarding the same problem. Good luck.

Change the frequency of the fan and remote. It is on the same frequency as some other radio-controlled appliance.
