Is it possible for kittens to be afraid of the dark? I only ask this because our kitten (daisy) loves to go down to our basement but every time the light is off she'll come whining to us until we turn the light on. I know it sounds silly but we've tried to do other things to see if those were the things she wanted but she would only stop whining when we turned the basement light on.

Well, think about it. Kittens don't have little flashlights in their eyes. To "see in the dark," they need ambient light. In most basements, there isn't any; basements are usually quite dark, especially at night. Basements are big too and filled with stuff.

Turn on the light for Daisy. (Would you go down there without a light?)
