I am trying to install a HB floor model ceiling fan w/o directions
:confused:I bought the last Hampton Bay ceiling fan to replace an old fan I was using that did not have lights. The HB model is much nicer than one was using but I have to work backwards. It has already been put together completely, including the mounting bracket to itself. I have taken the glass fixtures off and the actual blades off using the top mounted 3 screws but because of the large covering I can't get the mounting piece to go back on.

I am searching for a way to get the actual fan blades that connect to the unit but the screws don't seem accessible. I wish I had the directions so I would be able to see how it went together. I am tempted to return to the store and tear into another box just to read the directions and put them back in the box and leave. However, seeing all the other people who need HB direction/manuals I wonder if they even come with directions. (and their hours are eastern until 3:30 our time so I would call but too late, even then I can't see how they would be able to help)

With some decorative fans, you access the screws through the light opening.

Pictures would help. Or even knowing the model name.

I found a way to remove the fan blades by taking off the screws on the light fixture part but the big bowl part still doesn't come off, due to the places where the light bulbs screw in they have the socket then decorative gold things that hold in the glass.
    Now what?

The big bowl is the top light or the bottom light?

It is the piece that covers the mounting on the ceiling, I don't know what it's called.

Or you can just click it. I did and it worked.

There are screws on the side of it near the ceiling. There is sometimes a decorative ring that covers them that twists off.

Yes, that is off, remember I am trying to put this up from an assembled piece. So far, I have it down to the point where I can hang it on the hook, but I can't get my hand in there to screw the 3 bottom lug nuts? (if that is what they are called) because of the big white thing hanging in the way. I have been able to get the fan blades off and I was hoping it would slip right off, but now the light socket covers are in the way.

You have to take the light socket assembly off to remove the big white thing.
