    Am I pregnant?
    Hi,

Me and my husband have been trying for a baby for over a year now, I'm 27 and desperate to be a first time mum..

I haven't let it get me down too much at how long its taken and am not stressing myself out too much as I am aware that this does nt help the conceiving process.

My periods are very regular pain free and don't last that long, normally a week before I have my period I get the normal symptoms such as light backache an aching in my stomach and I get a bit crabby, however I had my period a few days earlier this time around which was two weeks ago but after I finished I continued and am still having all the signs of pregnancy.

    Bad lower backache
Strange feeling in my stomach as you get a few days before bleeding
Mood swings and crying for no reason
    Gums bleeding more
    Headaches
    Feeling sick
    Spots
    Very tender painful breasts

I find this really strange as I'm not due on for another two weeks, I have taken 3 tests now, two last week and one today, all negative.

I know I might sound stupid but could I still be pregnant although the tests are negative.

What shall I do, I can't talk to anyone as I don't want to sound silly and desperate.

    Please help asap

    Many thanks x

Yes you can be pregnant even if a home pregnancy tests is negative... try and remember the 1st day of your last period and then count to days 12,13,14, which is when you are most fertile and if you had sex then the possibility is higher that you might be pregnant.. Make an appt with your doctor just to be certain...

    Good luck...

Just a note, I'm about the same age as you and a little desperate as well. But you can also get pregnant during the ovulation time which isn't always on the days of 12, 13, 14. Each woman is different. The general time of ovulation time is between the 11th day to the 21st day. Just letting you know. I ovulate different each month and not always on the 12th, 13th or 14th days. LOL! God bless and hope everything works out for you both.

It's either pregnancy or pms and stress...

It's really hard to tell until you miss your period.

Pms and pregnancy can mimic each other with enough stress

Wait and see what happens with your next period. Obviously if no period, or even if it is slightly off from your norm, check with your gp.

Since you have been trying to get pregnant, continue (or start) taking folic acid (at least 400 mcg) either on its own or in a multivitamin and treat yourself as though you might be pregnant... making any lifestyle changes you know would be beneficial.

All the symptoms you have sound very 'pregnant like'. It could be that you have tested too early. Some pregnancy tests won't show a true result until the date your period is actually due. There is a test on the market I think its called first response that can give you a result sooner. Good luck
