Child support calculations for self employed
I am currently self employed and I am looking to do a child support modification for an existing child support order that I have to be reduced for lack of business. I am a real estate professional and the market in Ga has been really bad because of the recession. I live in Ga and the child resides in Ny. I am trying to figure out how would the calculations of my child support be determines If for the last 2 years I have shown a loss in 2007 for
-$15,000 and for 2008 -$20,000. How is child support based for some one in my situation who shows no income but a net loss. Please help me.

    Thanks

Part of the issue is self employment, what you call deductions for IRS may not be considered valid expense by a child custody / support court.

But support is based on people with no income normally ( in GA) at 30 hours at min wage, then 17 percent of that for support. Some state have just a min amount due if there is no income.
