I currently live in Ga and have been for over 12 years now. I am order to pay chld support from a court in Buffalo Ny which is based off a percentage. I aa real estate professional and I am not making any money in this economy right now. I would like to do a child support modification based in Ga based on Ga laws because it is not based on a percentage tof the non costodial parent, it is based on both parents income and expenses. A couple of years ago a Ga court ruled that the current calculation of child support payments was uncomstitutional. The mother and my child still reside in Ny. The question I have is can I get the childsupport modified in a Ga court.

Very unlikely, the court with jurisdiction is the court where the child lives. GA courts normally will not even hear the case if the child does not live here.

But believe me, GA still bases it a lot on the income of the non custodial parent, it is 17 percent ( I just got out of court on it this week)

So in GA the non custodial parent pays @ 17 percent of the gross pay ( before taxes) plus at least 1/2 of health insurance costs plus provides a life insurance policy with child as beneficiary and part of child care expense.

My ex husbang gives me $800.00 a month for child support he has the kids 20% of the time he is complaining that it is too much we have 3 kids he makes about $21.00 an hour can u calculate it for me please
