Am I more freaked out than I should be?
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm 22 and I've had three pap tests in a row that showed abnormal results. Showing AGC cells. I've had no pregnancys or misscarriages or anything. They have referred me to a speialist that I have to wait up to a few months to even get in contact with. Now they are telling me I possibly have cancerous cells. Cervical cancer does not run in our family. I don't know what to think about this AND my nerves are shot.. what if I have cancer. They gave me a perscription after the first pap saying it would clear it up. Now they are saying giving me that was pointless because it didn't do anything. I looked the drug up and it wasn't even for what they were trying to help. It was for bacteria increases.. and that's not what I had. I have had NO discharge or anything. Should I be worried because I'm frothing at the bit her

Why do you have to wait a few months to contact the specialist? Could you contact another specialist?

Since it is a referral from my doctors (other wise I have to pay for it myself) I have to deal with whenever they get ahold of me or that is what I was told. There is only one place with speciists near me that I can get to (since I don't drive) and they all work in the same building and I was told the wait time would be the same no matter which doctor they would be sending me to

Sadly I'm in canada not the US. So it proves how bad the state of all our health care systems are

Jesushelper. Thanks. You just freaked me out more lol. The doctor told me my AGC didn't mean I am positive for HPV or that I may be affected with it. But the website you sent me said it did. Also I checked other websites and they didn't say anything like the one you gave me for AGC. Though the website didn't state anything about plain AGC only AGCUS. I was referred for colposcopy though and that page didn't say anything about being referred for one in that area
