    Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
    Hello everyone!

I was doing some research and I came across PCOS. PCOS is a disease that can affect a woman's menstrual cycle, the ability to have children, hormones, heart, blood vessels, and appearance.

After doing research of this disease, I am starting to be concerned. I practically have all of the symptoms. I am afraid that I have it.

I have not seen a doctor yet, because I am so afraid of the results.

The main concern that I have is infertility. I want children so bad! Not right now of course. But I have found myself becoming so depressed just thinking about not being able to have children.

I am asking if anyone knows more about PCOS. Any information that they can share.

    Thanks so much!!

You must get diagnosed. These symptoms do not just come and go. They are constant. I have pcos and a 5 years old. So it is still possible just a little more difficult. The doctor can give you meds to make it easier.

Just be aware, some doctors diiagnose pcos to easily and others fail to want to diagnose at all.

I had a pelvic ultrasound 2 months ago that showed cysts all over both my ovaries. My doctor was worried about PCOS, and asked me about the symptoms, and whether I'd had them.

    I had most of them.

She ran tests, and they came back NEGATIVE for PCOS.

You need to see your doctor, because there are OTHER things that could be wrong, things that are less treatable than PCOS, that could affect your fertility.

    Go now. Today.

At the very least, get in this week. You need to KNOW what's wrong, so that you can treat it early for the best results.

PS--my doctor has me on Clomid (a fertility drug) to treat my cysts. That's increased my chances of conceiving HUGELY--and it's covered by insurance because of my cysts! So--it may be for the BEST that you go into your doctor, especially if you're trying to conceive now!

I have PCOS. I was able to conceive with the use of Clomid and I have an 8 year old daughter.

Don't let yourself get too worked up. PCOS is manageable. See your doctor and check out SoulCysters.com: Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) Treatment & Resources for tons of info.

I am not wanting to have children right now, but it is something that I definitely want in the future.

I made an appointment. I'm so scared of what the results might be. But it is tomorrow,

    Wish me luck!

Infertility is a major worry for patients with PCOS.
But there are many ways to overcome that.
Majority will respond to Clomiphene (clomid). And those who doesnot respond will be tried on Gonadotropins (follistim).
And those not responding to these will proceed to Intrauterine insemination (IUI) and at last Invitro fertilization (IVF).
So patients with PCOD need not worry much during these days of scientific advancements.
