My 5 year old Dachsund is suddenly wetting in the house.
My husband and I just returned from 2 weeks away. Our dogs were cared for by a friend. About 2 hours after we returned our, usually house broken, mini Dachsund peed in the floor right in front of us. Then a few days later he left a trail of urine as he walked to his bed. Later that same evening he relieve himself in the floor again, after just having gone outside. HELP? Is he OK? How do I combat this?

Urinating while walking indicates there might be a problem. I highly recommend a vet visit soon. Could be a number of things, such as a UTI. If medical concerns are ruled out, then it might be submissive urination and can be addressed as such.

Daughter had one and it did the same thing no matter what she tried. I understand this sort of behavior is not uncommon with them.

UTI. Dogs don't just pee while walking if they know not to. He or she could also be upset that you were gone. I'd say get to the vet just in case.
