Hi, we are in a 6 bed shared house, contract is signed un until the 30th of June, she fell pregnant and is due in May, we want to get out of the house to get into a more suitable house for our new arrival. Want to try and get out well before may for preparation time and so that there is not too much stress placed upon my pregnant partner. The contract states no children are allowed to stay in our house, not sure if that could help us at all.

I would just explain to your landlord about the pregnancy. Some policies are that if you leave a lease you have to pay the rent until they find a replacement for you. Is there any way your roommates would be able to find other roommates to replace you and your partner? I'm sure since the contract says no children allowed that your landlord would understand and allow you to leave. I would just sit down and explain the situation to him/her.

If the landlord does not allow children, suddenly there will be a child, you have broken contract and can be evicted plus owe until the end of the term.
Is it possible under the lease for you to find a replacement roommate, would your roommates be receptive to that, or would that have to be approved by the landlord? If so, I would speak to the landlord, the sooner the better.
If you leave and your roommates cover your portion of the rent they have a legal ability to sue you for your portion until the end of the term but hopefully that won't be necessary.
