Guardianship of a minor and medical insurance
My family and I are thinking of going thre the process of making me the guardian of my brother for a short while. I need to know if when he is in my husbands and my care will we be able to give him our medical and dental insurance. We are military so I don't know how it would work with our insurance.

    Thanks

Is your brother a minor? Have you asked the judge advocate corps? See: https://www.jagcnet.army.mil/

As a guardian, you become responsible for the child as a family member, with the rights that go along with that. In essence, he becomes your child/stepchild in the eyes of the law.

So yes, he can be added to your insurance. It is also considered a qualifying event (which may not affect military) so you do not have to wait for annual change periods.
