How to file a civil lawsuit against a webhost?
My website regularly goes down. So I signed up for an internet monitoring service. My site has been down every day sometimes 2 and 3 times a day for the whole time I've been on their service. My repeated attempts to get the issue resolved has wound me up working with their inept tech support for a weeks worth of hours at least.
At one point one of the technicians, frustrated at not being able to resolve my issue nor get me off the chat, replaced the php script that was my website with one line of text "Dan does not understand me." I demanded he replace my index, he eventually hung up on me and did nothing to repair my site which he intently broke.
I complained about his service and demanded he be fired. The next day part of my database was deleted by no act of mine, with their tech support being the only people with access to my database apart from me. I chatted with another of their techs who restored my database and again demanded the tech that hacked my account be fired. The next day the passwords on my account were changed. I reset my password and demanded the tech that originally hacked my account be fired or that I be given a refund for the full amount of the year I prepaid with them. I received no response.
Now the directory on my server that my blog is in loads only a blank page.
The tech who hacked my account is still employed in their service and when I contacted support to get this latest issue with my site fixed he first asked me about my past issues with him, then hung up on me.
I want to sue their company for the time I've spent to repair my site, for the downtime my site continues to experience and for the aggravation of having to deal with their incompetent tech support.
Any help as to where I would start and how I would best go about sueing them would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Daniel Vincent Kelley
