    Excruciating foot pain
I have been having excruciating foot pains. Someone help me! Rarely sleeping - cramps in my calves from being awakened by the pains. Tingling and cold, burning sensations in my toes! What is this and what kind of doctor do I need to see? I am a 51, not diabetic or overweight, no hbp, otherwise healthy woman

You need to see a podiatrist and/or your family Doctor immediately. I don't know what the problem is but they will.

Do you maybe have a toe infection? Those things could get pretty nasty..

But like smearcase said you need to see a podiatrist.. only they can help you.

As a type 1 diabetic (insulin dependant) Over 0 years I am always concerned about my feet. Your symptoms bring to mind a couple of possibilities. Gout can cause horrible pain to the bones in your feet. Gout is sometimes caused by consuming red meats in your diet. Try avoiding these for awhile see what happens. Secondly low pottasium levels can cause cramps in your legs. Supplement your pottasium with bananas or a low dose vitamen supplement. Poor circulation to extremities is also caused by dehydration. Try cutting out or significantly reducing cafiene intake and increase water or ice tea.
Of course I say this as a laymen and do suggest if thses suggestions donot help see your Doctor. Best wishes for you and yours!
