Does anyone remember an old cartoon,must have been made during the 80s, which featured a purple crystal or crystals. I think the main characters were some kind of animals, like mice or other rodents but I think their skin was green. Pretty sure it was set in space and I think they were in underground caves a lot. Been bugging me for ages. Don't remember ever seeing it on UK TV but someone I knew had videos. Remember it was really epic and was brilliant when I was young.

It wasn't a cartoon, but there's a movie called "the dark crystal". Long shot but it's possible that's what it is.

No, I remember that. Scared the out of me when I was a kid. No, this was definitely a cartoon. Wish I could remember more. Space, chubby green alien animal type characters and purple gems. Any ideas people?
