I have an older baseboard heater which is 12 feet long and I do not want to replace as it is very sturdy and the way they make them now, they are very flimsy. I had to replace the knob on this baseboard heater. I took the cover of the front and the wire sparked. After this the baseboard vibrates when it comes on, and stops after a while. It gets pretty loud. When I step on the top, it stops, then when I take the pressure of, it starts again. I have cheched everything to make sure everything is secure. It has me stumped. The only thing that I can think of is that there is a problem with the wire running through the top. Before I take everything a part I would like other opinions
Thank you
