Adoption if parents sign over rights
OK. My husband and I have been planning on adopting a child for some time now. A family member approached us about a situation... The parents have a 3 year old boy and another baby on the way. They don't want either child, and have been reported to DFS many times but nothing has been done. If they were to sign over their parental rights to my husband and I, what would we need to do? Do I just need to have an attorney draw up the paperwork, get it signed and that be it or do we go through the courts with it? Has anyone been through this? Any advice would be helpful! Thanks

Oh and we are in Missouri.

An adoption is a legal proceeding. You need an Attorney to make sure the adoption is final and legal and the Attorney will prepare the paperwork and walk you through the Court system.
