    Snowblower Electric Start
    Hi
I have a Tecumseh engine on my snowblower. When I tried to start it using electric starter, the motor would just rotate without the engine starting. I took the motor out and found that the gear is broken -- with all the fins gone. I got new gear. However, before I put the motor with new gear in the machine, should I grease the gear? If yes, what type of grease should I use?

No grease. You don't want it to hang up.

My snow blower elecric start is dead. Before I replace it how do I know if my engine is not dead also?

    Hi,
Turn the ignition to the On position and then attempt to start it with the manual starter. Use spray carb cleaner, just a bit in the throat of the carb, if necessary, to do this.
    Peace,
