    Check your Sound driver .

May be your sound driver missing after install the SP1.

I agree to check on your sound driver to make sure it is configured and working properly.

In Vista go to: Start-Control Panel-Hardware and Sound. From here you will have options to check system volume, which I would do first. If not that try "manage audio devices" and check to make sure things are configured correctly. It will say if the device is working properly and give you the option to configure.

This happened to me yesterday for no apparent reason and that is how I corrected it. I think it is unlikely to have been caused by the SP1 upgrade.
