    Temptrol bath and shower valve
Valve leaks when I move the bath to shower knob around. The leak comes from only that area. Can I fix this without replacing the whole valve.

Yes, you can fix any leaking faucet w/o replacing entire body valve. What type/brand/kind of faucet do you have ?

    Bobbyc123...

Are you saying that the valve leaks from the trim area when you SLIDE the diverter handle from tub to shower? Let me know...

If so, then they make a diverter replacement spindle... be sure to pick up the WHITE one for tub/shower valve (see picture) or the BLACK diverter spindle if shower valve only. They sell these at all home improvement stores.

You will also need to pick up a 5/16" x 3" lag screw and a 5/16" allen wrench and some plumber's grease. Here, you remove the valve trim and then you use the allen wrench to remove the brass nut at spindle and then screw the lag bolt into the spindle... then you YANK on the lag screw to remove the spindle. Then just need to grease the o-ring a bit, slide into place (push hard to set spindle deep), and re-install brass nut and valve trim.

Let me know if this makes sense or if I'm way off...
