I have been dating this guy for a month and I noticed he is very touchy feeling and always kissing me in public and in front of his friends. I definitely knows he likes me. But just curious if he is treating more like an object or if he just really likes me.

Could be both... maybe he thinks it gives him a bit of bravado in front of his friends.

If he likes you as much as you think, and if you tell him so much public display of affection causes you to be uncomfortable, he should tone it down a bit. If it bothers you and you tell him, but he doesn't change... that will give you an idea of maybe he is more interested in showing off a prize than in you the person.

If he respects your concerns, that is a great sign!

Some people show more affection than others. It sounds like he's just more comfortable with public display of affection than you are, which isn't a bad thing. Everyone is different, but you should talk to him about it and maybe you guys can meet in the middle.

This might be kind of more of a long shot but this might be something of a territorial thing. Not that you're his property but as a show to other guys in public that you are spoken for. By kissing you while in public other guys see this so they choose not to approach you because you are already with someone. By doing this he might be able to avoid confrontation with another guy that might try to hit on you. Just a thought on a different level. Or heck maybe he just loves you ;)

I agree with you @ truckman... I think he wants people to know... action speaks louder than words... just imagine if he only said I like or love you but when in public he stayed far away from you... think about that..!
