Hi, I been on the depo shot for a year and a half. My last shot of depo was in April of 2008. I have not got my period yet although the I have been spoting now and then. I also just started taking vitex about 16 days ago and have been spotting more. I want to become pregnant but is having know luck. Myboyfriend and I have sex a lot but noting is happening. Do anyone have any answers?

For some women it can take quite awhile before their cycles get back to normal after coming off depo... for others it happens fairly quickly. Whether the vitex will help will take waiting and seeing. It may simply be an issue of getting a kick start from the vitex or you may just need to give your body more time coming off the depo. Vitex often does take several cycles to see a difference however, and can be a good option for some women in specific situations.

It can take healthy couples a year or so to conceive sometimes, and you have the possibility of the depo playing a role as well.

Obviously continue to enjoy yourself with the frequent sex, but try not to put too much pressure on yourselves to conceive. See what happens over the next few months, and you can always check with your doctor about doing some hormone tests to see if there is indeed an issue or not.
