Name of anitmated romeo&juliet themed movie?
There was an animated movie of the 70's or 80's (I believe) that had a romeo and juliet theme to it. The boy was a water sprite, the son of a water god and the girl was a fairy of some sort. The boy couldn't be in the sun or he would die and the girl couldn't get in the water or she would die. Somehow they meet and fall in love, but then the girl decides she will grow up and do what her mother wants which is to become the queen. The boy is kept away from her, but he escapes and goes to look for her. He somehow is blinded and he is out of the water walking around calling for her and she tells him to go back. He continues to come after her and walks into the sunlight and dies. She has become this beautiful grown up fairy with butterfly wings. She remembers she loves him and goes to him and picks him up and carries back to where they used to send time together. She jumps into the water with him and dies. His father lifts them out of the water and her mother and his father mourn them.
