Repo Law How long does it take
    Hello,

I would like to introduce myself as a first time question asker. I have a question regarding Repo Law. I have a friend who has financed a double wide trailer home through a finance company, and who has lived in the home for over 10 years now. Due to recent events of job loss and other situations this friend is now facing repossession. The court date is set for next week, and I am wondering how much time will the court give my friend before he is required to be moved from the home? Also, if anyone knows of any way to help keep this home any advice would be appreciated greatly.

    Thank you,
    Lisa

    Hello Lisa,

I live in Mississippi, and just went through the same thing. I lived in mine for 14 years. When I went to court, they gave me 30 days to vacate. I believe that would apply everywhere, but someone else can verify that. After thirty something (about 32 or 33) days, they sent someone out to take pictures and change the locks. However, I own the property and the home is still sitting there. That was 30 days ago. They won't give me a definitive as to when it will be moved though.
