    Itchy Vagina
Well, I recently was put on antibiotics for a toe infection, and a couple days later, I shaved my vagina completely. Since then, it has been very itchy, which is not only uncomfortable, but embarrassing.

There are no mars (Warts, sores, welts, etc... ) there, simply now growing back pubic hair.

I have NOT had sex in my vagina but I have anally, and used a condom every time!

After doing a bit of Googling, a lot of websites said that antibiotics can throw off the balance down there.

    Any advice/suggestions?

(And I am DEFINITELY seeing a doctor ASAP!)

It depends on what antibiotic you used. Some do cause yeast infections while others don't. Now, the shaving can cause itching as well, particularly when the hair begins to grow back in.

I'm hoping it's that, since I've never shaved all the hair off down there before. Thank you! :)

Do you mind me asking what the name of the antibiotic was? I could look it up in my drug book here at the hospital.

Oh, uhm... Sugar! I got rid of the bottle. It was for a mild ingrown toe infection, if that's any help! The pills were the size of a pinky nail, and a yellow/orange color!

    Sorry! :(

But thank you for the advice! I'm going to see my family doctor soon (I'm hoping early next week) just to make sure everything is OK.

And is there any chance this is something serious? (I know online is VERY vague compared to in person, but just in case you have any suggestions!)

And it was just the hairs growing back in!!

My doctor warned me that I shouldn't shave everything done there, but she checked me over, and everything is good!

    :D
