    Pressure for Well Water
    Hello :
I live in a 10 year old house which I bought past year. The house uses well water and while the pressure has never been high, it was useable. Now the pressure is quite low, especially on the second floor, and when I turned on the spigot for the well, the pressure was lower than usual and then within moments, went down considerably.
An addiitonal variable could be that we had heavy rains here a few weeks ago and some dirt got into the well as the water coming out of the well spigot was literally brown. It since cleared up but the well could have dirt or silt in it.
    Any suggestions? Thanks! Jacob

It is often difficult to confirm whether the problem is low flow or low pressure.

Give this a good read and let us know where you're at with it from there:

Is this a shallow well, a deep well or an open well.

Can you see or do you know where the pump gauges are ? You will have a high pressure shut off and a low pressure shut off. If the pressure is good at the pump, then you may have gotten debree in the water line.

First check is the facuet screen on the spout, they offen get stopped up over time.

But I would also check to see what the cut off pressure is so that you are getting enough pressure into the pipes to start with.
