    What are the rough in measurements for a toilet?

    The average toilet will rough in 12" to the center of the hole from the stud, (unfinished) wall and 11 1/2" off a finished wall. Regards, Tom

    If you like a gap between the tank and wall, it is 12" from finished wall - as suggested by toilet manufacturers.

    If you don't like that gap - it is 12 from rough framing.
