Hi there, I'm looking for the title of an old B&W film of which decade I'm unsure .The movie is about a fur (fox) hunter who lives in the mountains, of possibly Alaska. From there he rows for miles down a river to a small town to collect supplies and money for the furs, where the local town (mayor?) holds money for this man. In a bid to escape the remote town the man steals the hunters money, when the hunter comes to collect, the mayor refuses to return the money so instead the hunter takes there daughter, who was adopted after her parents were killed in front of her by native Indians, this (not seen in the film but mentioned) left the girl so traumatised she hasn’t spoken a word since. Determined to leave, the couple agree, the man takes the women, who he later calls Rabbit. Back at his log cabin he teaches her to hunt, cook and so forth. She does not speak a single word in the film. Please help thanks Kiel
