Repair or replace Sony flat screen?
I have a 2 year old Sony KDL 40 XBR3 which will not display the HD signal from my COMCAST box. Also, it will frequently not display anything when I switch from the HD channels to the SD channels. If I turn the TV off then on again, the picture will return and I can switch back to the HD channels with no problem.

To perform a diagnostic check will cost $150. I suspect the repair will be very expensive, but I can't get anyone to estimate it. Has anyone had this problem? Does it make financial sense to try to repair it since the price of these TV's has decreased significantly? Thanks for your help and thoughts.

You might as well just keep it the way it is because in Feb there will only be HD they are doing away with any thing else anyway so you will no longer be switching.
