    Kitchen sink clogged
Liquid draino and other products don't work. What do I need to do? If I need to take off the j pipe and clean it, do you think that will work and how do I do it.

If there is no cleanout in the line, and it turns out not to be in the P trap, you can remove the P trap and run a small handheld (25') snake down the train line. These snakes normally only cost about $10.

Although, you may get lucky and find the P trap clogged.

If someone poured burger grease down the drain then this could very well be the culprit.

If it does turn out to be a grease clog, then once you clear the drain, dump several pots of boiling water down the drain to help melt off the rest of the grease.

Not many plumbers will use, or tell you to use any acids as a drain cleaner, it mixes with the grease and makes a goo similar to the old lye soap that people use to make.

It is possible that the clog could be in the
j-bend of the trap, or it could be down the line several feet. I recommend you do like Andrew said and buy a cable in a spool.

You have clog in the horizantal drain pipe, remove the "J" bend from the trap and snake the drain line, (see image). You will run into a 90 degree bend about 8 inches in but once around that you only have to put out 6 more feet of cable. After, flush with hot water, Good Luck.
