This spider jumped out at me when I was taking down the artificial Christmas tree. Can anyone identify it?
I suspect it is a Wolf Spider of some one kind or the other. Maybe a young one.
I asked our entomologist to give his opinion. This might be a huntsman spider. Without the actual specimen to confirm the identity, this should only be considered a tentative ID.
If you search the internet, you will find that there are many different species of huntsman spiders and crab spiders (Family Sparassidae), and they don't all look alike.
