    Salary v.s. desperation!
    Hello,

I have second interview today for an IT Consulting Firm and I fear that their salary question (IF ASKED) will put me in a rough spot. I have researched the going market rate for an IT Service Tech. and I am pleased with what I found. My only concern is what if they intended on paying a lot less? Also, I am sort of desperate for a job in IT therefore I am willing to be paid a lot less, do I make this known to the interviewer or do I stand strong and go by my research?

    Great Thanks!

The really important thing when it comes to any kind of remuneration package in IT is experience.

There are so many paper qualified people out there that they have become secondary to your work record.
Might be worth considering going for a low opener with regular, possibly quarterly, pay reviews based on your results.

THanks! I gave them a rnage based on the local market for IT Service Tech's and informed him I was comfortable on the low-end. There are reviews every 6 months, (after 90 days of course) then after the first year they re-evaluate!

    Thanks Again for the response!
