My ex-husband would like my husband to adopt my children so that he can stop paying child support. We live in the state of Alabama. IF my husband adopts my children, would my ex-husband not be required to pay child support? On the other hand if he terminates his parental rights, would he still be required to pay child support?

First, it served no purpose to terminate parental rights. In some States it is not possible; in others you still have to pay child support.

As far as adoption - they would no longer be your "ex's" children and, therefore, he would no longer be responsible for child support.
